While in the process of reading the excellent new biography of John Cage (Where the Heart Beats by Kay Larson) and contemplating the influence of zen and chance methods on his work, I happened one day to be out for a run and came across the following pieces in the road. I thought they made a nice bookend to the earlier project (above) and also seemed to take it a step further in that they form a piece found, altered by chance, and that they were neither inside out nor right side 'round but in another state altogether. They seemed a fitting illustration of some of what I'd been reading and a comment on the initial process.
