A (partial) ring of colliding blocks and sound generating pieces of metal, this bit of noise was inspired by Allen Bukoff’s "Danger Music 2008."

[ video still from Danger Music 2008 ]

I wanted to make a piece that made as much noise as possible and had the potential to fall on somebody (the 'danger' part).
Just as I was making a few notes on this (and deciding glass should probably be avoided)

the Large Hadron Collider at CERN came online (10Sept2008)

- an ongoing fascination.

So it just seemed to make sense that this noise piece needed to be about collisions and the potential for particle smashing.

One 'particle' ended up just a wee bit smashed.
